Posco chief seeks administration help to expedite construction work

PARADIP: Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Posco India YW Yoon on Friday sought the intervention of district and police administration to expedite the construction work at the proposed site. Kujang police have imposed restrictions on entry of Posco officials to the site through a notice on December 15.

Yoon has sent a letter to the district and police administration asking them for permission to enter the site and security cover for Posco officials to expedite the construction work in Nuagaon and Gadkujang villagers. Yoon said both Centre and State governments had expressed interest in expediting the construction work of Posco steel project on the 2000 acres of land in Nuagaon and Gadkujang panchayats.

He said during installation of the mega project, law and order situation has become the order of the day and the police should look into it. SP S Devadatta Singh said Posco officials have demanded for protection to resume work but it cannot be provided till the completion of panchayat poll.
